F.I.C.S. ADULT AMATEUR
RIDER DEDICATION AWARD
IN MEMORY OF MR. KNOCK OUT
F.I.C.S., located in Westminster, MD, is a family business that specializes in arena footing, harrows, dust control, and maintenance. They also provide fly spray systems, stall and aisle footing, solariums, and equine scales. Sandy Hart-Long is the President, her father Bill Hart is the Vice-President, her husband Tim Long is the Principal Fly Spray Technician, and her daughter Madelyn is the future. For more information, see their website at http://www.stableandarena.com/home.html.
Mr. Knock Out was an 18 hh retired thoroughbred race horse / steeple chaser / show hunter who had a brief career in dressage before he sustained an unfortunate life-ending injury. He was loved and ridden by Sandy Hart-Long, an Adult Amateur who was new to dressage at the time (Sandy now has her USDF Bronze Medal!). Mister always tried his heart out, regardless of what was asked of him, and showed great potential in dressage. Being an Adult Amateur is hard and Sandy would like to honor those who try their heart out, like Mister did. It is therefore appropriate that this award is in honor of Mister.
