2023 Saddle Award Winner
Congratulations to Alexa Briscoe who has won the HCS, USA Saddlery saddle! Alexa was the AA training level high score for five shows during the 2023 FADS Show Season.
Frederick Area Dressage Shows (FADS) is a series of dressage schooling shows offered by farms in the Frederick County (Maryland) area. For the 2023 show season, HCS, USA Saddlery awarded a Kent and Masters S-Series Dressage Surface Block Dressage Saddle to Alexa Briscoe.
HCS, USA Saddlery (https://www.hcsusasaddlery.com/) HCS, USA Saddlery is an equestrian saddlery company located in Clear Spring, MD. Owned by Annette Gavin and three other qualified saddle fitters, they provide riders with a professional saddle, fittings, and purchasing experience. They carry saddles, girths, stirrup leathers, bridles, bits, saddle pads, boot wraps, lunging equipment, saddle fitting kits, studs, and many accessories. All leather products are made of the finest English leather. For saddles, they carry Albion, Black Country, Fairfax, Hastilow & Sons, Ideal, Kent & Masters, Ryder, Thorowgood, and Vale Brothers and many top-quality secondhand saddles. They also carry a large selection of used saddles.
The HCS, USA Saddlery staff are the largest group of Society of Master Saddlers Registered and Qualified Saddle Fitters (SMS) in North America. Annette Gavin and her partner Amber Markley are two of only 46 Master Saddlers in the world and two of only 16 Qualified Bridle Fitters. HCS, USA Saddlery has two additional fully-trained and SMS qualified saddle fitters on staff available for appointments.
With a desire to support local equestrian events, HCS, USA Saddlery aims to encourage riders. They therefore offered the HCS, USA Saddlery Training Level Awards for Adult Amateur (AA) and Junior/Young Riders (JYR) to riders in 2023 FADS shows. For this awards program, the training level highest percentage score AA or JYR rider for each FADS show received a show award ($25 gift certificate). At the end of the FADS show season, the rider that won the most show awards won a saddle from HCS, USA Saddlery.
The 2023 saddle winner is Alexa Briscoe who, riding her five-year-old German Hanoverian gelding Lincolntime, won five show awards. Congratulations to Alexa!
The HCS, USA Saddlery Training Level Award will be repeated for the 2024 FADS show season.
